The Unique Role of A Physical Therapist Among the Health + Performance Staff
In the NBA, physical therapists / physiotherapists play a crucial role in optimizing athlete health, performance, and recovery, working closely with a dedicated team of health and performance experts. As skilled professionals physical therapists / physiotherapists collaborate with athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, physicians, nutritionists, and mental health specialists to deliver comprehensive, athlete-centered care.
By integrating expertise in assessment, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement, physical therapists help design individualized strategies that support each player's unique physical demands. This interdisciplinary approach ensures continuity of care, minimizes injury risk, and enables players to perform at their best throughout the season.
